Thank
God for these Guys
For five years, author and photographer
Alan “Jake” Jacobs has spent countless days and nights
on the streets of Chicago as he was allowed entry
into the close-knit groups of the city's fire fighters, sharing
in the complexity, the quiet giving, the traditions, humor, pride,
and the dedication.
Motivated by 9/11 he
set out to understand and explain the people
and their work. His new book, Thank God for These
Guys: Chicago’s
Firemen on the Job, featuring over 250 unique photographs
representing the most intimate moments in the
lives of these often invisible men and women, is
available from MT Publishing. |
